There are a lot of theories out there about paranormal activity. Some make sense and some just make good ghost stories. We are not claiming to have all the answers (far from it, in fact) but hopefully we can help shed a little light on some of the more common myths.
Myth: Paranormal activity only happens at night, particularly at a full moon.
Fact: There is no evidence to support this theory. People have reported events happening at any time of the day or night and regardless of the lunar cycle. This is easy to verify when you look at photos and video captured by witnesses.
Myth: Cemeteries are the most haunted places on earth.
Fact: Although there are many reported sightings, and a lot of great stories about haunted cemeteries, there is no evidence that a cemetery could be any more haunted than any other location. One theory is that a spirit does not hang around a cemetery because the body didn't die there. The spirit would have no connection to that area. Typically, a spirit would be more drawn to the place of death, a location or object the spirit loved or with a loved one.
Myth: A photograph with an 'orb' in it is a photo of a ghost.
Fact: The vast majority (over 95%) of 'orb' photos are actually photos of dust, rain drops, bugs and/or any other of a wide array of common elements between the flash and the focal length of the lens. A good rule of thumb: if it has wings and legs, it's not an orb.
